Last Saturday Tom had an open house for a new show, Arnold Friberg Art and Testimony. Tom's company, Apple Frame Gallery, won a bid to do the framing for the only limited edition printing of the Arnold Friberg Book of Mormon art and was the first gallery to display the sets. Each set includes 12 pictures:
- The Brother of Jared Sees the Finger of the Lord
- Lehi in the Wilderness Discovers the Liahona
- Young Nephi Subdues his Rebelious Brothers
- Lehi and his People Arrive in the Promised Land
- Abinadi Delivers his Message to King Noah
- Alma Baptizes in the Water of Mormon
- Ammon Defends the Flocks of King Lamoni
- Captain Moroni Raises the Title of Liberty
- Helaman Leads an Army of 2060 Ammonite Youths
- Samuel the Lamanite Prophesies from the City Walls
- Jesus Christ Appears unto the Nephite People
- Mormon Bids Farewell to a Once Great Nation

Look familiar, even from a distance? Friberg's art colors all of our mental images of the Book of Mormon because they are actually included in the paperback copies of the Book of Mormon. The LDS church owns the copyrights for these prints, but the Friberg Foundation petitioned the church for permission to do a single limited edition printing of the art before Arnold Friberg (age 94) dies. The project has been in the works about 5 years and has finally reached fruition.
Shalaun had fun staying up until midnight each night during the week to make (and taste test) cookies, brownies, cream puffs, and sweet breads for the show. For more information on the show go to http://www.ldsartshow.com/ or http://www.appleframegallery.com.
